The analysis of two family cases shows the following findings. The roles of family members about the care for demented parents is distributed on the basis of practicaily of their situation and position, not on traditional Confucian values and practices. And the care problem of demented elderly should be solved by the establishment of realistic measures considering the current family type and social role status of women, not by replacing it with internal matter of the family or not by emphasizing traditional Confucian values and practices to the members of society.
